In 2013, I founded Mydzik with the intention of making complex and often difficult subjects easier to understand.

As a scientist, I had seen how large of a gap there was between what my fellow STEM workers understood and what they could convey to a broader audience. This confusion had trickled its way into politics, policymaking, and even family dinner conversations. I wanted to shine a light on science and show people that, while the work was highly specialized, the results were possible to understand.

While I began my work in science and technical communications, I quickly expanded into the online business world as an independent strategy and operations consultant. Because I had started a successful freelance communications company, many people in my network were intrigued. Once again, I worked to demystify the emerging digital workforce via podcasts, blogs, videos, interviews, and, eventually, both individual and group coaching and consulting.

Now, Mydzik is offering a full suite of strategy and communications services for entrepreneurial businesses who need to creatively structure their projects and convey their expert message with authority and clarity.

I’m interested in getting in on the ground floor of select new projects that are working to blend technical expertise with creative thinking.

Q How are you working with clients right now?

Right now I'm accepting clients for 1-hour consultations, which are best for getting quick insight on an idea or project, 3-to-6 month 1-on-1 coaching engagements, and a select few consulting projects in which I get much more hands on in your business.

Q Tell me about some of your previous coaching or consulting work.

I've worked on retainer to help an aesthetician get her (now) 6-figure membership site and training program off the ground; I've spent a short but intense month supporting a fellow storm chaser in establishing their communications company; I've worked with groups of anywhere from 3 to 10 people for 3 to 6 months on growing their service-based businesses in a dedicated mastermind; I've helped multiple writers and editors scale their services or expand their agencies' potential.

Q Do you have any media background?

In addition to my time as a tornado scientist, during which I traveled the world speaking at conferences and to television stations, including The Weather Channel, about my work, I have worked at a TV station, been a paid contributor to USA Today, appeared as a guest on multiple video and audio podcasts (and a few live radio segments), and written for sites around the web.

Q What do you most enjoy helping people with?

I most enjoy helping people mesh their creative brains and technical knowledge to create effective strategies for projects and businesses they care about. And while strategy and mission are the big picture components of my work, we'll naturally get into tactics around marketing, branding, systems, and more during our time together, depending on your project.
